Roadflow is changing to Ford Focus stuff!

There are a few reasons for this. But first let me state that all existing Volvo posts, labels, and links will remain. Roadflow gets tons of hits for everything from OBD-II to Volvo movie info. Rest assured these will all remain here.

I've been in the market for a new car for a while. I wanted something small, fun, fuel efficient, and able to carry a little bit of cargo. The C30 was a top candidate. However, upon further inspection and research. I decide it was too expensive and the cargo area was inadequate.

So, despite being a Volvo enthusiast and owner of many Volvo's through the years, I sought out an alternative. The Honda Jazz (Fit) was looking to be a good choice. But, the Ford Focus won. I am super happy. The car is everything I want. Fun to drive, great cargo area, fuel-efficient, and more than half the price of a C30!

It's been a lot of fun to write about Volvos over the years and I'm looking forward to doing the same for the Ford Focus.

Tenured Professor Volvo Beater

Wired did an article a while back called "Impress for Less With These 5 Rides". In the Volvo section there's a link to the Roadflow medallions posts.

Changing servers

Roadflow is in the process of changing the servers that host this site. Apologies for any temporary broken links or other erratic behavior. Hopefully it all gets sorted out soon. Feel free to comment here if you see anything wrong. Thanks.

Blog Technology Update

This post doesn't have anything to do with Volvo stuff but I thought I'd provide some info on some technology changes for this blog.

I've been using Technorati for a while to index and categorize this site based on tags. It's been ok, however I find their site difficult to navigate and there is some erratic behavior when propagating the blog updates to them. I also don't like the idea of sending traffic away from the blog in order for readers to view my categories. I used to get a lot of hits from them but I haven't gotten any in a really long time. So, I'm going to switch over to using post labels that are built into blogger. Hopefully it also helps readers find topics easier on this blog. I'll leave the Technorati categories up for a while on the right side bar. I'll try to make a new index for the non-Technorati labels. I wish there was an easy to go back and label all the previous posts.

Google Adsense was giving me some grief so I've stopped using them and switched. Right now I'm using Bidvertiser. They are ok but the ad categories don't seem to match at all. I guess they have no automotive advertisers at all! I'll probably switch over to Yahoo ads soon.
